Sitting Pretty

I know ‘sitting pretty’ is not how we felt after stuffing ourselves after this Thanksgiving dinner, but it definitely was how we felt while getting ready for this occasion! Right?! Here I am applying my makeup at my vanity desk, also showing you my vanity setup. My room is white furniture themed with gray accents. I have my clothes hanging from garment racks because I have absolutely no space in my closet left! My setup is not completely finished, but for now it will do! For Thanksgiving I wore a long striped bodycon with wedges, and due to the chilly weather I wore a black peacoat over it. It was a classy look for a great day spent with family.

Both sides of my parents families reside in the Fresno/Clovis area, so my boyfriend and I drove down there to spend time with them. We stopped at my Tia’s house in Clovis first, where my dad and his side of the family were gathered. I was happy to see my Grandma, I know she sustained a tough year due to my Grandpa’s passing this past March. She still seemed in a bad state, but I know the whole family coming together brightened her day.

While the food was cooking, everyone was outside listening to music and drinking beers. My Tia’s backyard was the perfect place to gather; there was even a neat bonfire there keeping us warm. Soon enough the food was ready, and surprisingly there was no Mexican food. My dad’s side is Mexican, and normally they have tamales and such. I had a plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, broccoli, and salad.

I spent time with my dad and cousins, and after a couple hours we drove over to Fresno for my mom’s side of the family, to see my grandparents and great grandma, Nanay. We ate again there, and pigged out on some fried rice, ham, crab egg rolls, and apple cider. I talked with them for awhile and spent time with Nanay, who is in her 90’s, reminiscing on all the old photos of us around the house. Around 9:30 we headed home with our stuffed bellies!

I had a great Thanksgiving, and thankful for everyone and everything in my life. I was blessed with a great family and only hope for more great times to come. I hope all of my readers had a great and safe Thanksgiving as well!
