Denim on Denim

I remember back in the 90’s when I was growing up denim on denim and acid wash were “cool” and in style. Then around the early 2000 era it became “uncool” to wear denim on denim. (“oh gosh, she’s wearing a jean jacket with JEANS?? That’s social suicide!” as many would put it.)

What’s funny now is that so many styles from back then are “in style” once again. (High waisted pants, rolled T-shirt sleeves, crop tops, bright colors, etc.) Kids wear crazy outfits these days, with a lot of inspiration from the 80’s and 90’s. I absolutely LOVE the 90’s style. If you’ve ever watched Selena Quintanilla‘s videos from that time, she was literally a fashion queen. She was ahead of her time in style, and most of the outfits she wore we wear today!

For me, I absolutely love denim on denim. Or even just a similar pattern for the top and bottom of my outfit. And sometimes even a light colored jean jacket with dark washed jeans. Pair the most random pieces together and you’ll find the perfect match that complements each other. I believe that with style, “rules” don’t apply.

I absolutely love this look I’m wearing. It was the perfect casual outfit but more significant than just regular jeans and button up. I love these destroyed acid wash denim jeans with the similar matching button up and crop top. It was the perfect outfit to wear to go see some of my family. My sister and I have the matching Michael Kors purses, just different colors, so I just had to take a photo of them (these are the best “everyday” bags, btw).

For our appetizer we had a bowl of fruit, which was very healthy and refreshing. Our main course was chicken, corn on the cob, and steamed rice. It was delicious! My mom and DB always have the hookup! For dessert my sister brought everyone a personal mini cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious, and cheesecake is one of my favorite sweets. Thanks Sees, that was a fantastic idea for dessert 🙂

I love seeing the animals whenever I visit. My sister brought her and her boyfriends dog, Maverick, who has only one eye due to a tumor they had to remove a couple years ago. He’s such an amazing dog, he’s like a person! While we were watching the Warriors game he even jumped on their laps to lay with them like he was some small 5 pound dog or something, haha!

It’s always great to see family, and should be a priority no matter what!

I have a couple of matte lip stick reviews coming up that you don’t wanna miss, so stick around! 😉
