How did everyone’s Father’s Day go? I spent the day in the Bay Area with my sister, our boyfriends, and my dad to celebrate his 50th birthday and Father’s Day as well! His birthday isn’t until the 27th, but we decided to celebrate it a little early since we were already all together. My sister and I had spent the last two weeks planning this event – his gifts, food, cake, location, etc.

For this casual family get together I wore this adorable off the shoulder aztec printed shirt, high waisted jean shorts, and my Guess GF Bree Lace Up flats. My sister Sabrina wore a cute tube top romper, a knitted shawl, and Guess Zelene Lace up sandals.

We decided to have our celebration at my sister’s house. Our dad didn’t arrive back from work until around 3:30, so we had time to set everything up. My boyfriend and I drove out to the bay and arrived around noon, so we decided to stop by the mall while Sabrina finished up a few things at her house. I made a visit to Louis Vuitton while we were at the mall, and finally purchased a Mini Pochette! I was extremely excited to finally get this cute pochette, and I may do a review on it! We shopped around the mall for awhile then headed to Sabrina’s.

We had wanted to get my dad his favorite cake, Burnt Almond, but the bakery we normally get it at had had a fire and was shut down! We weren’t sure of other decent bakeries, so we decided to get a cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. Unfortunately, the Cheesecake was just plain, with no decorations. For them to write ‘Happy Birthday Daddy’ on it, they had to give us a separate piece, which was a white chocolate bar that they wrote on. We stood that on top of the cake, and Sabrina decorated the cake with fresh fruit. It looked much more complete when we were done with it! When we served the slices, she added fruit and whip cream next to each slice. Talk about a classy DIY birthday cake!

We knew my dad would be tired after a long day of work, so instead of dragging him to a restaurant for dinner, we decided to order ahead and have Buca di Beppo door dashed to us. Buca is an Italian restaurant which is absolutely delicious! They delivered around the same time my dad arrived, so it was perfect timing! We ate some spaghetti, garlic bread, and Spicy Chicken Rigatoni. And it was absolutely AMAZING!

After dinner we had my dad open his gifts! I found this cute gift bag with Boston Terriers, frenchies, and Pugs all over it with birthday hats at Marshall’s, so I knew I had to put something in there for my dad’s gift. I put the $75 Best Buy Gift Card in there for him (which btw was a graduation gift card because they had no birthday ones available) and we tricked him saying it was his only gift from all of us. We let him open the gift card and waited a couple minutes until we brought out his major gift: an Xbox One! We all started laughing and said we felt bad for making him wait for his real gift and thinking he had only gotten a gift card from us! It was heartwarming to see my dad open his Xbox. As he unwrapped his present and saw the Xbox he paused as he said “No way…..Is this just the box?” We let him know it was really an Xbox and he was so excited! He even said he was happy with just the graduation gift card (lol!), but of course we wouldn’t let that slide!

The Warriors game started playing and it was fun to watch the game with the fam. During halftime we took the cake out and sang Happy Birthday to my dad. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious! Definitely a real cheesecake, and my dad liked it a lot too, which was good!

Unfortunately the Warriors lost (but my boyfriend won $40 out of it so it was all good, lol), but it’s OK since they won the championship last year. We ended up going over to my dad’s house so Joseph could set up his Xbox for him. We spent a few hours with my dad before heading home. It was such a great and fun day with my dad and sister and it was heartwarming to make my dad happy! And you have to agree with me, he doesn’t even look 50!
