Guys! I just about died when I got this unexpected Hourglass package in the mail to review from Influenster. They sent me the Hourglass Veil Translucent Powder, Double sided brush, and a sample of the veil mineral primer.

I absolutely love Hourglass products! I featured the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer in a post a couple years ago (read here), raving about it even back then. It was one of my favorite primers for quite awhile, but to be honest it became pretty expensive. Hourglass is a very high end makeup brand, and extremely pricey. Although their products are amazing, the cost can definitely catch up with you. If cost isn’t an issue for you, I highly recommend their products!!

 

I was so excited to have the opportunity to review the Veil Translucent Powder! I’ve been using it all week and absolutely loving it. I have combination skin, so I can get oily pretty quickly, especially in this warmer weather. I use the powder to set my foundation and it keeps me matte for a good 4 hours without blotting. I always have to blot after a few hours, so I wasn’t expecting anything more. It applies smoothly, translucent, and works it’s magic perfectly!

 

 

The packaging is very luxurious with the gold top and the ‘H’ engraved where the product comes out. Because of how the packaging was created, this powder is not messy. You don’t get a bunch of powder everywhere because not much comes out. I like that, but sometimes I do need more product and it’s a little more difficult to achieve that effect quickly.

 

 

I applied the translucent powder with this Veil double sided brush. The larger side is used for powder all around the face, while the other side is smaller and used to apply powder under the eyes. Let me just say, this brush is extremely soft! It feels very nice applying it on my face and super soft like a teddy bear, haha. Although it’s soft and applies perfect, I’m not sure if I would ever pay $64 for one brush. Well, technically it’s two brushes because it’s double sided, but I’m not a big fan of double sided brushes due to storage. But that’s just me. It really is a very high quality brush though and is probably the softest brush I own.

 

 

They also sent me a sample of the Veil Mineral Primer. As I mentioned earlier in this post, I have already used this primer and repurchased it several times in the past. It’s an incredible primer and works wonders! Helps my makeup last all day and great for my combination skin.

 

 

Overall, these Hourglass products are amazing! I’ve never been disappointed in any of the Hourglass products I’ve tried. I haven’t spent much money on makeup lately (hence the lack of beauty posts on this blog), but if $$ wasn’t an issue these are definitely products I would repurchase in the future.
