Hey guys! This past week has been crazy, huh?! No matter where you are in the world, we are all dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. I know there has been several shutdowns like Italy, and now California is on a mandatory shutdown as well. So many businesses have been forced to close and many people are forced to stay home and not work. Just like most of you, I’ve been affected by this too. It’s a scary world right now, and I just hope the government comes through and helps the people!
Although this is going on and some of you are at home or working from home, we still need to be productive! Working from home is a whole different atmosphere – it will make you want to work in bed, wear PJ’s all day, and sleep in. I am guilty of this too of course, but because of this pandemic we need to get out of bed and work even harder.
So how do we stay productive while working at home?
The number one answer is to GET DRESSED! Get ready for the day, just like you were physically going to work. Even if nobody sees you, you see yourself and will feel more motivated to sit at a desk and get work done. This is extremely important, and it’s a proven fact that if you dress to impress you will be more productive throughout the day.
If you need help finding new clothing or even need to do a closet cleanse while quarantined, book me for Virtual Styling at www.micalav.com. If you aren’t interested in purchasing new clothing, I can also just put outfits together from your current wardrobe, all done virtually (keeping in mind social distancing for now!)
I know we still want to be comfy if we are at home, so instead of wearing jeans, slip on a pair of striped pants like the ones I’m wearing here. These basically feel like pajamas but have style and add emphasis to your outfit. Pair it with a crop top, boots, and a coat and you’re ready to be productive for the day! Yes! Let’s get things done!
If you aren’t working, continue productivity by doing something you rarely have time for: like reading a book, exercising, online courses, cleaning, or like I mentioned earlier: cleaning out your closet! (Decluttering is also a good thing to do if you’re working from home, to have a clean space)
Spring is here anyway, so it’s definitely time for Spring cleaning! Remove all clothing items that don’t fit you correctly or that you haven’t touched in 6 months (unless its a rare vintage piece, sentimental, etc.) I can help you do a closet cleanse virtually to help you decide what to keep and what to donate/sell. I can also put outfits together using pieces from your current wardrobe! So book me now and let’s get productive with that wardrobe of yours!
If you’re working, get the day started right away and stay off your phone! Unless it’s part of your job or you’re using it wisely (like for marketing and getting business, etc.) just stay off it – it’s a huge distraction! No need to pointlessly scroll through Instagram when you can be doing more productive things. Especially if you’re working from home and don’t have the pressure of your boss to tell you to get off your phone, you need to be responsible and use your time wisely!
Also have a separate space for work (preferably on a clean and organized desk)! Working on your laptop in bed isn’t the most productive way to work, and you may end up falling asleep. Besides, you took time to get ready today, so who wants to be in their bed dressed up?!
Overall, to be productive you gotta feel great about yourself and you will end up getting things done. Even if you’re home alone, it’s just as important!
What are some things you’ve been doing to be productive this past week? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you guys enjoyed these tips! Stay safe, healthy, and strong! And remember to book me for style services if you need something to do 😀 www.micalav.com
