How fun was the theme for this shoot?! I picked up this boho dress last year at a local boutique (right before COVID hit) and it totally reminded me of the old country prairie days. We decided to do a Prairie theme and even located a mill that was built in 1846 at the Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park in St. Helena, CA!

It was the perfect location for that ‘old country’ type of prairie feel, since settlers came to this mill to have their grain ground into meal or flour. It was a huge part of daily use in the late 1800’s during the early development of Napa Valley – and it still functions to this day!

 

 

Mini history lessons aside, this was a sleeveless boho midi dress, but I wore a tie neck blouse underneath for a more ‘old fashioned’ look. I gave it that cinched-in waist with my favorite white skinny belt, along with some flats for the ‘bare feet’ type of feel.

Meanwhile, down the street we were also able to find this gorgeous field of yellow😍. This completed our whole theme and vibe!

 

 

I had so much fun during this shoot and felt like I was truly in the olden times in the prairie 😂. I get really into character when I’m in outfits or specific locations…I definitely should have continued an acting career 😂.
